Bringas (Cruise)

Between the Plaza de San Miguel and Calle Mayor. District 1 (Central). Barrio del Palacio.

In the seventeenth century was this via a passageway of the Cava de San Miguel who was called San Miguel Shed. Then opened up the road from Ciudad Rodrigo, dividing into two very unequal parts the block 168. In Store became San Miguel Passage , and later changed its name to the present, due to the establishment of a rich merchant surnamed Bringas. Mr. Draper would Bringas, since his store opened in full Portal wipes the Plaza Mayor. Repid account that after the devastating fire in 1790 throughout the western stretch of the Plaza Mayor, the owner of the store, then was Francisco Antonio de Bringas and Clip, mayor of Hosts, the rebuilt under the plan drawn up by Juan de Villanueva. For the location that gives his work repid can deduce that even then (twenties) there was a small piece of the block 168 which was separated by opening this road. Today is gone, and is known as crossing Bringas what was first installment of the Cava de San Miguel, approximately from Main Street to the corner of San Miguel market.
